Leasing Land: Alternatives to Purchasing for Beginning Farmers

Jae Silverman, Massachusetts Field Agent, Land for Good, presents a virtual workshop, Leasing Land: Alternative to Purchasing for Beginning Farmers, on November 17, 2020, 6:30 pm-8pm via Zoom. Pre-registration required and offered at $10 for Berkshire Grown Members and $15 non-members.

In collaboration with Jae Silverman, Land for Good’s Field Agent for Massachusetts, this workshop is an introduction to the different ways beginner farmers can access land and start farming as well as farmland owners  looking to lease out their farmland.  Jae will also discuss how leasing can be a viable long-term strategy in addition to being a stepping stone toward ownership. In addition to talking about different types of lease agreements we will also hear from a panel of farmers currently leasing land in the Berkshires and Pioneer Valley. A question and answer period immediately follows panel discussion.

Watch for announcements about other workshops offered in the Winter Workshops 2020/21 Series taking place in December 2020 and in the New Year.
