This two part workshop will take farmers through the nuts and bolts of establishing and using a bookkeeping system from setting up a Chart of Accounts to preparing documents for your tax accountant.
In part 2, we cover practicalities like writing checks and paying bills, recording payroll and labor (including 1099 reporting), recording loans, grants, and repayment, and organizing tax documents for your accountants well as how to run and use reports to improve your business. Once again, we will have plenty of time for discussion, so come with all your burning questions!
In part 1 (Tuesday, February 26), we covered the reasons for keeping records and ways to organize your receipts, setting up a Chart of Accounts, tracking inventory, invoicing and recording income, the use of Classes in Quickbooks, and cash versus accrual accounting. Bring your questions!
Presenter: Jeanne Kessler has been a freelance bookkeeper since 2006 specializing in working with small businesses in and around Berkshire County. Jeanne has worked with many different types of businesses to customize their bookkeeping to fit their individual needs using primarily Quickbooks Desktop and Online versions.
