The Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation has announced the second year of their annual Farm Awards. In partnership with Big Y they will be giving away $100,000 to local farmers in awards of up to $2,500. After a successful first year with this program, we are thrilled to again be working with this generous organization who is making a concrete impact for Berkshire Grown farmers! Please read the key details below and be sure to get your application in by the January 31st deadline.
If your farm has gross sales of $10,000 or above, you are a member of Berkshire Grown or CISA, and you have a project that will give a strong return, please tell us how an award of up to $2,500 for a specific project could help improve your farm business. The awards can be used for equipment and physical improvements to your farm. Projects must be completed within the 2016 calendar year.
This is a competitive application for a limited number of awards to farmers. Last year we had 88 applications and were able to give awards to 33 farmers. Even if you received an award in 2015, you are welcome to apply again.
Here is the Farm Awards Schedule:
Application Deadline: January 31
Final Decisions: Mid-March
Awards Issued: Early April or within 2 weeks of anticipated project start date
