1Berkshire is hosting three Pitch Events this Spring as part of their Berkshire Starts initiative. The three evening sessions are designed to identify entrepreneurs and small business owners who want the opportunity to promote their idea/venture, have the chance to win a small cash prize, and meet a group of potential mentors interested in helping them advance. Pitch competitions are great ways to refine business ideas, build confidence, connect with peers and mentors, and gain access to investors. Anyone interested in starting a business or developing a new product or service should apply. The May 3rd Pitch Event will focus explicitly on Food, Farming and Agriculture businesses. Learn more about how it works.
1Berkshire Food, Farming & Agriculture Pitch Competition
Tuesday, May 3rd, 2015
The Stationery Factory, 63 Flansburg Avenue, Dalton, MA
Apply by April 14th to vie for a spot.
Learn more about the Pitch Competitions here.
AND there will be a pitch camp happening on Tuesday, March 22nd to help you prepare for the competition:
Free Pitch Camp
Tuesday, March 22nd
Central Station, 66 Allen St., Pittsfield, MA 01201
Offered as a preparation tool to those who are interested in applying to an upcoming pitch competition OR for those who want to perfect their pitches, the camp will provide experienced insight into developing an effective “pitch deck,” including key dos and don’ts. You will learn how to develop three kinds of pitches: 30-second “elevator speeches,” full pitches to investor groups, and pitches to single investors. You will NOT be presenting your own pitch, but you will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss your business idea with the group. Space is limited to 20 attendees – first come first served. One attendee per business is allowed, so Eventbrite will limit you to ONE ticket per registration.
Check back here or on the 1Berkshire website for announcements about any future pitch camp opportunities.
